Attention-deficit/hyperactivity Evaluations
At Heal ATL, we are dedicated to providing collaborative ADHD identification in a caring and supportive online space. Although our website uses terms like "assessment" and "evaluation" to match the language most people are familiar with, we prefer the term collaborative ADHD identification. We aspire to a future where this terminology is widely adopted, allowing us to phase out the traditional language of "assessment" altogether. Our team is committed to affirming neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ identities, with a strong focus on the unique needs of gender-diverse ADHD adults. We work hard to ensure a welcoming and safe space for all.
Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity has the potential to affect one’s professional, academic, and personal lives, including your most important relationships. Heal ATL offers thorough yet affordable ADHD evaluations for teens age 14+ and adults in an effort to help you better understand yourself. Collaborative ADHD identification can help you learn more to improve the specific ways ADHD may challenge your cognitive, social, academic, emotional, occupational, or relational functioning. Our goal is to help you learn ways in which to improve your executive functioning skills, relationships, and overall functioning to improve your quality of life and set you up for long-term success.

Psychologists certainly offer testing for ADHD. . It is important to know that there are currently no standardized tests to assess if an adult has ADHD that are fit for purpose or reliable; that is, there is no ‘gold standard’ tests to identify ADHD adults. Assessments can help guide our clinical thinking, but are no substitute for thoughtful exploration with the neurodivergent person. Other barriers are significant costs associated with a formal evaluation with a psychologist or psychiatrist, incredibly long time commitments to reach a diagnosis, and long waits to even get an appointment.
Whoever you choose for your evaluation, you should make sure they are neurodivergent-affirming and are trained in assessing adult ADHD. The organization CHADD recommends, "Many times the professional’s level of knowledge and expertise about adult ADHD is more important for obtaining an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment plan than the type of professional degree."
*Please note that Heal ATL does not provide neuropsychological testing. If your assessment results find that neuropsychological or learning disabilities testing may be needed, you will be referred for those services to the appropriate professional. Cognitive or intelligence testing is not required for ADHD evaluation unless you present with intellectual difficulties.
*We recommend having a physical medical examination within the past 6-12 months to rule out medical causes for symptoms. Some medical conditions, such as thyroid problems and seizure disorders, can cause symptoms that resemble ADH challenges. A medical examination does not confirm ADH neurotype but is important in helping to rule out other conditions or problems.

100% of clients stated they felt “seen, heard, and respected throughout the evaluation process.”
100% felt that the findings and conclusions were presented in a way that felt “accurate and meaningful to them”.
“I felt comfortable making minor accommodations for myself (in terms of affect, appearance, tone of voice, and mannerisms) because I felt they would be approached with understanding and curiosity. I didn't feel pathologized - instead I felt I was being approached with kindness, understanding, and professional expertise. I very much appreciated that my traits were described in terms of both how they could be experienced as both debilitating/disabling and as strengths - because they absolutely can be either or both depending on the context/situation/peers.” -TY
“Especially as someone who finds social interaction and meeting new people difficult, Brittany made me feel very comfortable during what could have been an intense and awkward encounter. I actually told her something about myself (my fixation) that I've never told anyone, so I know I was comfortable. Speaking with Brittany was very freeing, as I began to understand that these symptoms and behaviors that I have are all interconnected to my diagnosis. She really gets it!” -JS
“I really enjoyed Brittany's supportive and affirming stance towards neurodivergence as well as her ability to make the evaluation process feel natural and conversational.” - RO
“It was interesting to see Brittany capture aspects of myself that often I am self-conscious about or try to mask within the span of an interview or even teach me about aspects of myself that gave more explanation to the struggles I confronted.” -WDMQ
“I felt relieved. I had been given a half-diagnosis before and due to that I often doubted if I had autism so when the results came, I felt a relief knowing that there was no reason for self doubt and I could work on exploring and working on embracing this aspect of myself.” - WDMQ
“I feel less alone and like an outlier. I feel like a lot of my past experiences make more sense through the lens of the diagnosis I've received. I feel validated and less like I'm making up difficulties that I experience in my day-to-day life.” - TY
“It’s clear, efficient, less costly than most and done with an understanding and compassion that can only come from someone with a shared experience of ADHD/Autism.” - AM
“Please, do yourself a favor and work with Brittany! If you are someone like me who loathes meeting new people and social interaction and thus has been putting this off, don't. Brittany has seen it all and heard it all and will not make you feel weird, broken, inadequate, or whatever adjective you tell yourself you are on your worst days. She is supportive, comforting, and validating!” JS
“I would not hesitate to book an appointment with Brittany! She delivered a world-class and affirming experience and picked up on signs and feelings that other providers would have simply glossed over.” - RO
