A 4-week group for building awareness, emotional regulation & presence
The Foundations of Mindfulness is a 4-week experiential group designed to introduce the core principles and practices of mindfulness in a supportive, therapeutic setting. This group offers practical tools to help participants cultivate present-moment awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop a more compassionate relationship with their inner experience. 

Across four 60-minute sessions, participants will explore mindfulness through gentle teaching, guided practice, and reflective discussion. Each session includes time for questions, shared insight, and connection, allowing mindfulness to be understood not just conceptually, but experientially and relationally. 

Mindfulness is not about emptying the mind or fixing yourself — it is about learning how to be with your body, emotions, and thoughts with greater clarity and care. This group is well-suited for beginners as well as those looking to deepen an existing practice in a trauma-informed, accessible way. 

Who is this group for?

This group may be a good fit if you: 

  • Feel overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from yourself 

  • Want tools to work with emotions and thoughts more skillfully 

  • Are curious about mindfulness but unsure where to start 

  • Want a supportive, non-judgmental group environment 

No prior meditation experience is required.

What to Expect Each Week:

Each session includes: 

  • A brief psychoeducational teaching on mindfulness principles

  • A guided mindfulness meditation or embodied awareness practice

  • Space for reflection, questions, and group connection

4-Week Breakdown: The Foundations of Mindfulness Group

Week 1: Introduction to Mindfulness

Learn what mindfulness is, how it works, and how to begin practicing in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.

Week 2: Mindfulness of the Body

Develop awareness of bodily sensations, breath, and tension, and explore the body as a gateway to grounding and self-regulation.

Week 3: Mindfulness of Emotions

Learn how to notice and relate to emotions with curiosity rather than avoidance or overwhelm, building emotional literacy and resilience.

Week 4: Working with thoughts and Beliefs

Explore how thoughts arise, how beliefs shape experience, and how mindfulness can create space between awareness and automatic patterns.
